Houston [July 28th, 2025]

Geothermal Energy Advisors (GEA), a leading consultancy in geothermal exploration and valuation, and Geothermal Radar, the premier geothermal data and modelling platform, have announced a strategic collaboration to support geothermal prospecting and project implementation across key markets.

This partnership brings together GEA’s extensive expertise in play-based exploration for geothermal projects, resource, prospect assessment, with Geothermal Radar’s cutting-edge modelling technology and techno-economic analysis. As such, this collaboration will empower, faster, data-driven decision-making and streamlined project development. Through this collaboration, GEA and Geothermal Radar aim to make a positive impact identifying affordable and scalable geothermal projects globally.

We observed that it was estimated that $300 billion USD in geothermal projects globally remain stalled due to one core issue: subsurface uncertainty before drilling. (Reference: International Geothermal Association). In addition, the World is facing an unprecedented surge in electricity demand, with global needs set to nearly double over the next 25 years. This surge is anticipated through population growth, economic development, and technological advancements. Data centres and artificial intelligence (AI) are in part responsible for this dramatic thirst or power, with estimates that data centres will consume 945 terawatt-hours (TWh) in 2030 (IEA 2025). Geothermal energy has the capacity to power the world's energy demands 140X over, with the added benefit of being a clean firm power source (https://www.iea.org/reports/the-future-of-geothermal-energy/executive-summary, IGA 2025). Geothermal also contributes to decentralization and democratization of energy providing not only stability to the grid but provides energy security and autonomy.

"This collaboration paves the way for widespread geothermal deployment on a global scale and will help meet future energy needs. Together, we’re raising the bar for how geothermal projects are scoped and screened” said Dr. Philip Ball, managing director (GEA). GEA will leverage the Geothermal Radar platform to provide clients with enhanced insights into project viability, uncertainty, risk mitigation, and resource quantification and field optimization. In parallel, Geothermal Radar will benefit from GEA’s real-world project experience and domain knowledge to further calibrate and advance its modelling workflows, says Vladimir Stroganov.

“This partnership accelerates our mission to make geothermal modelling frictionless and scalable,” said Vladimir Stroganov, CEO of Geothermal Radar. “By integrating GEA’s deep geothermal expertise into our platform workflows, we’re creating even more value for energy developers, investors, and policymakers.” GEA and Geothermal Radar hope that this initiative will facilitate the adoption of geothermal energy by improving the reliability and transparency of project assessments, ultimately unlocking capital and accelerating decarbonization efforts.
